Ok, I don't want to seem hateful or pointlessly critical, but...

That's like 24th "humans evil and furries are victims" comic I've seen this year alone and we aren't even halfway through it, why is it such popular trope here? And most importantly, what's the point? This seems like artistic venting about our species being inheretly evil or something (even thou it's bullshit), I'm sorry if this seems mean but I am genuinely confused why I see this trope so often on this site

  • From all the terminology used so far, is this a Rimworld based setting? You have quadrums are general basis of time, Vat-grown based soldiers, nutrient paste supplements, a sorted mixture of xenogenetics and the Fallen Empire giving "Honour" based positions in different regions.

Seems based enough in Rimworld to almost warrant issuing a tag if needed.

Maybe because we would no longer be on top of the evolution chain and just be the weakest of species? And that would make a human villain more scary.

Well in the context of this comic i'd argue it's more a "this guy in specific is horrible" rather than "humans are evil" lol but in a more general lore sense, this is heavily inspired by Rimworld, in which there IS actually a big kinda-evil pseudo-feudal Empire that uses genetic modification to make what's functionally slave castes to use for menial labor, sexual gratification, or military purposes.
On a more general meta level, it's pretty self-evident since this is the Furry Site for Furry Art, so if you're going to have a comic where one side oppresses or holds dominion over another to some degree, having your main character (and thus the focus of the comic) be a furry means that you'll have more screentime given to a furry character (which is what most people coming here will be expecting to see).
otherwise on a lore level it just makes sense ig? Like we already have people who are racist sometimes irl, if you add a bunch of people who are as sapient as you but also look like literal animals (which a large portion of people. would say. are a lesser form of life than humans.), you have a target which feels vastly more appropriate for hatred than other humans (since a large chunk of discrimination in general is an 'us vs them' mentality).
IDK though, sorry if this was too much rambling and you weren't expecting an answer. If it's any consolation this comic isn't meant to be a 'humans are inherently evil' soapbox lol

Huh, I wasn't sure if it'd warrant a tag honestly since it's still not exactly a 1:1 of Rimworld, my bad if it does ^^" I wouldn't mind adding a tag for it if it's noticeably Rimworld-ish though!

Well the game itself is a story-generating based medium. It'd be a cool addition to the lore that it is entirely possible to have happened. This is life out on the rim!

So far I've seen only two humans in this comic, unless they were the same person, one raped her and this dude, if this dude was the only human in the comic then maybe I wouldn't be writing this but so far it's definetely NOT "this specific person is horrible" when we've seen two horrible people, hence my conclusion

What makes you think that? Lack of need for something is still evolutionary superiority, average furry would not be able to survive even in quarter of enviroments of our planet without some heavy duty equipment because of their fur and lack of sweating, terrible stamina management, vastly inferior dexterity due to 4 fingered hands and pawpads, average lower intelligence due to their brains not being able to cool down because of their fur, humans are not even on the weaker side of the primates, right above us are only chimps, orangutans, gorillas and MAYBE baboons, and still not by a large margin, we would definetely still be on the top, not to mention more competition would make us adapt and become also physicaly superior, we aren't physicaly the strongest primate because we don't need to, what's gorilla gonna do when you rip it's tongue out?

it uh... is the same person... ^^" That guy is the 'overseer' of this training outpost, in the page you mentioned he was in his standard uniform, and in the page before this one here, Six has a thought on how weird it is to see him "in his labcoat" like he is now. Sorry if that wasn't clear :<

In a way, I'm glad that it's the same person! I think you made it pretty clear that he's the same guy with her going 'in his labcoat', you're plenty clear!

Speaking from nearly four decades of experience on Earth, I can confidently state that every villain I've ever met in real life has, in fact, been a horrible human.

    Coincidence, or good writing?
    I duuunnnnoooooooooooooo~~

I think from the perspective of the author it seems quite natural. Think about it this way, you’ve have just finished deg your cute furry protag (oc do not steal) and need a villain for your story.
Either it is another furry (probably a big bad wolf) which feels offensively generic to even the least inspired author. Or, perhaps, a human. Humans are the ultimate blank slate, they carry no preconceptions. The nicest person you’ve ever met is a human so too is the worst person in the world. It is not surprising that the stockest of stock characters shows up a lot.

Also to nitpick a nitpick, tropes are not necessarily bad. Providing narrative shorthand to the reader can be preferable to going on a 10 page lore dump about the history of your fictional universe, especially if that not the point of the comic.

The thing is when it's written in context with furries it comes of as extremely lame expression of self hatred that is very popular nowdays, I'm just sick of hearing bullshit like "humanity bad" especialy from furries, for this to not come off as some weird form of self hatred or other extremely popular thing on this site specificaly which is racism against humans you simply need a counterbalance, another human character that a good person, simple and doesn't make the comic automaticaly labeled as "human bad comic number 482937493" don't you think? Humans aren't a blank slate when your story involves an inhuman species as a main character
