MemberThe only reason I see for keeping that tv is to see the DVDs in a watchable quality. Imagine trying to watch something from an old DVD on your new modern TV but when you start watching you notice your movie is in 144p, you change some settings but your movie stays at the shitty resolution. Then you find out your tv doesn't have a one very specific function that the DVD player needs for no reason because it was made by some shitty 3rd party, no name company that doesn't even exist anymore. Buying a new DVD player would solve this. But wait. You just bought a new tv, so you can't afford a new DVD player. The only option for you is to plug it into the old tv, that probably is older than the dinosaurs, and watch it like that, because it allows 720p. So the idea of watching a few old movies on Christmas day on the new tv is ruined because of some stupid technology related stuff that you don't understand. To this day I don't know what the specific function needed was.
So yeah I see why you would keep that box TV.
