What are the Nexus?
Harmoniensis Concordia, Nexus, were the first intelligent creatures to evolve into antropomorphic forms in Lux, building the foundations and framework of modern society. Unanimously respected and looked up to, Hyperion and the utopian life in lux is attributed to them and their culture.

Appearance and traits
Aside from their iconic claws, Nexus stand out due to their size. While an average Luxian creature is about as tall as a human (1.70mts in average), The average adult Nexus stands at an outstanding 2.50 meters. This however, is an adult Nexus trait. Peculiarly, young and young-adult Nexus are about the same height as any other creature of the same age range, but once reached a certain point in their life their growth factor increases dramatically until they reach their final size. There is no significant variation in average height between males and females.
There are three subspecies of Nexus; ones that evolved in beaches and near the sea, once that evolved in the forests and swamps, and ones that adapted to high mountainous environments.
Coastal variants usually have brighter colors and patterns, but stand out mostly because of their thinner, slighlty longer claws, that helped them with fishing in the primordial times. Meanwhile, the forest based subspecies can be distinguished by their more curvy, hook-like claws that helped them dig on the dirt and climb trees.
Mountain based Nexus can be told apart because of their slightly shorter and stubbier knife-like claws.
Though through generations and due to modern living, most of these features are much more toned down in antropomorphic Nexus.
While different individuals have different keratinous spikes and growths in places like their heads and spines, they all share the same spike on the center of their chest, as well as tear-like markings that flow from the outer corners of their eyes, though these can vary in shape.
They have long, fur covered reptilian-like tails, and ears that are slightly tilted backwards and at a lower angle than other species. Their fur is very soft, and though mountain-based Nexus have it thicker, they all have a good amount of it.

Nexus culture
The most important aspect of the species, kindness and selflessness is hard coded into their being.
From the prehistoric days, the species thrived and evolved by having symbiotic relationships with other animals and plants, they found great success even if it paradoxically meant sacrificing themselves for other species some times.
This resulted in Nexus culture being all about sharing, helping, and most importantly the concept of unity and "oneness". Natural, empathic leaders.
They are all about unity in all it's forms. With other species, with themselves, even in aspects like technology, achieving oneness between a naturalistic lifestyle and the comfort that tech can provide.
All throughout history the Nexus worked and progressed with the goal of achieving unity in society, and with Lux itself, the planet they inhabit.
Even after the surge, the discovery of Mana and taking society to the level of an automated utopia, a large amount of the Nexus population preferred to stay in smaller towns and tribe-like settlements in nature.
Even then, they seamlessly integrated to the modern society they created, as "one", taking advantage of technology and modern conveniences while still sticking to their simple, naturalist ways. For example, shellfish farmers on a small tribe in the swamp will share and ship their goods to the city, while keeping enough to live comfortably themselves.

Sex is very important in their culture. In a way, it's the highest way of achieving unity with another being, thus, sexual activity is seen both as something casual, and something incredibly meaningful, it is deeply tied in their ways, which is why Nexus sex parties are common and beloved by them and the other creatures in Lux. Sharing with partners, even with family; it's all a way to enjoy oneself in this realm while sharing that pleasure with others. Tribes will get together for nights of fun, welcoming anyone who wants in.

You can think of them as promiscuous, hippie techno wizards.

Fun facts

-Though no one knows exactly what Hyperion is, most agree it's probably a group of Nexus that got together and cotroll everything

-They have fingers, their hands are just so fuzzy it makes them look like mitts with the claws sticking out

-Proportionally speaking, the Nexus population in Lux is very small.

-Rumour has it that Nexus can be fertile at will, which allows them to have so much sex and still be such a small population.
