MemberSomething that's encouraged for ing posts on here is to find the highest quality version possible. Usually what happens is that an image will be ed, and then a higher quality version of an image is found ("higher quality" either being in a higher resolution, or being a PNG - which holds more data - instead of a JPEG).
Maybe that higher quality version was always around but just not found, or it was ed at a later point in time. This image is an example of the latter, as the FurAffinity version is a PNG with a bigger resolution that was ed a couple months after the Twitter version which served as the original source. So the FurAffinity version becomes the new source and replaces the original.
In short, it's just folks updating or replacing posts with better versions of those images, though I'm rather surprised that this one seems to have kept all the favourites from its original - or at least had that transferred so it's kept on people's favourites. (That's new to me anyhow.) I hope that explains it well enough. :)

MemberWith Boosty, Patreon, Deviantart Subscription Walls, etc a lot of the pictures we see ed are the resized released one, while what sits on those sites behind the paywall are the full files. Often without all the Patreon link bars and so on. They sit there on a lot of people's Patreons to be dropped months -sometimes years- later where in these images get updated with the original post.
Imma covered the other half of things but right now a lot of ed files are entirely resized and altered resolutions. Some posts I've seen have even had the genitals blurred out and them being Patreon exclusive.
