Tempting, but voting instils a false sense of choice.

Well, here's how I see it... there are 4 outcomes (in america. I cna't speak for other places)

Given those options... I would rather vote because the potential loses are greater if I don't vote.

Plus, even if I don't affect my senator or congressmen, I certainly do make a difference for my local Sheriff, mayor, treasurer and other local offices. Even if I can't control what's goign in in Washington DC, I can make it clear what I want out of my local community.

I'm in a (color1) county in a (color1) state, I don't expect my color2 vote to make too much difference, but I'm placing it anyway. I would rather say "I did my part" rather than say "well it's not like it matters anyway."

    Please go vote.

  • @SnowWolf as much as I would love to get into an in-depth conversation about this topic with you, it would cause a ridiculous amount of comments of varying opinions to a point the s would step in to tell people enough. More and more people would in changing a possibly civil discussion into a mosh of this where in the end the truth being nobody will change their point of view.

So true. Mad respect. Imo, keep voting and other stuff to other sites, this is e621, not a government website or facebook.

  • Voting is a rigged game. I mean, I voted, but only so noone can hold it against me for not voting.
Never let a nipple sticker tell you what to do.

Truth is, the game was rigged from the start.

  • I happen to know this artist would prefer I didn't vote :^)

Oh well, guess they got their preference this time. Can't say the same for others who would vote similar to myself.

    I meant who

I vote for policies, not politicians. If it's that important to you, I stand left/libertarian of center.

I'm a few days late, but I wanted to say that I respect this reply. You're absolutely right on how it'd turn out -- though I think one on one conversation could, in places, result in more flexible minds. but that's not likely to happen in this time and place. :)

By and large, this is true, though we are a little flexible with that rule, at points. It's definetly a "keep it civil and polite and kind" thing. But by the letter of the rules, no, this type of conversation shouldn't be allowed here. :)

    That said, voting's important.
