Given those options... I would rather vote because the potential loses are greater if I don't vote.
Plus, even if I don't affect my senator or congressmen, I certainly do make a difference for my local Sheriff, mayor, treasurer and other local offices. Even if I can't control what's goign in in Washington DC, I can make it clear what I want out of my local community.
I'm in a (color1) county in a (color1) state, I don't expect my color2 vote to make too much difference, but I'm placing it anyway. I would rather say "I did my part" rather than say "well it's not like it matters anyway."

@SnowWolf as much as I would love to get into an in-depth conversation about this topic with you, it would cause a ridiculous amount of comments of varying opinions to a point the s would step in to tell people enough.
