Description

Squirmly at one of his own planet's pride festival! Flying a demi-flag loud and proud and enjoying the community-led powderpaint parade. I like to imagine squellacs are mostly pretty well-adjusted social creatures, and intimacy isn't as much of a taboo in their culture, thus the tradition of handprints in powder-paint across the squellac's fur.

Now you see, I believe that this here person is merely expressing a distaste for all the powder paint being flung around in this image. It's quite the allergy risk you know.

What on earth is a demi?

1: I don't know why your comment has a negative rating for a simple question, I've used my vote to return it to neutrality.
2: "Demi-" means demisexual, which according to an internet search means "a sexuality in which finding somebody sexually or physically attractive is only possible once a close emotional bond has been formed with that person", so like, a demisexual person couldn't enjoy porn, because they feel no liking for the person in it.

but that's just...normal? why does it need its own label, and why is it grouped with orientations?

A generic person is capable of finding someone sexually attractive without an emotional attachment, it’s what we feel when we look at porn for example. But a demisexual person is completely incapable of finding someone sexually attractive without an emotional bond to them.
But as for why it’s grouped in with orientations, I got no clue.
