Description

The serpent’s back was slippery, coated in sea water and foam. It was a challenge just to maintain one’s footing amidst its unpredictable movements and constant attacks. Its tendrils seemed to have no end to them as they kept sprouting out from across its body. No matter how many were sliced in two, no matter how much blood was shed, the beast persisted on frantically defending itself from its attackers. Chieftain Xander’s battleaxe made quick work of the venom-tipped protrusions, spewing yellow blood all over both him and his weapon. Xander, too, was on the defensive, holding up his Arm of Obsidian to protect himself while at the same time going berserk with the Greathorns of the Sea. As they were just in earshot, he called out to warn the trio, “Don't let the bastards get ya! Those tendrils are chock full o' poison!” Further down the Cobalt Serpent’s long, scaly body, Ithaca and the rest of the party were making the most of their teamwork, covering each other’s blind spots and offering whenever necessary. Ithaca had sliced clean through the length of one the tendrils, making her sword take on an unfamiliar golden hue, an odd contrast to its normally emerald-green appearance. Even though she was normally a cheerful, upbeat soul, the northern coyote could flip on a whim to become a potent fighter.

Just as the party thought the worst had ed, the Cobalt Serpent had other plans in store. It straightened itself out, jutting out from the sea like a sleek, blue apostle of death and destruction. It was an unexpected twist to an already wild encounter, but the party braced itself for what was to come. The serpent cried out in a mind-numbing screech that could be heard all across the sea. It wasn’t ready to give up the fight for its life just yet, miraculously growing massive wings, signifying that it was about to take flight. “Damn! Everyone grab onto somethin'! We're about to hit the skies!” Xander hastily warned the trio to take protective actions so as to not get thrown off of the serpent and into the sea below. But just as she heard the warning, Roseland had unwittingly slipped off of the dreadful beast, falling helplessly to the deep, dark depths of the Cobalt Sea. “Rosie!” Ithaca had just barely missed her friend, reaching out to no avail in an attempt to grab her hand and pull her back to safety. However, Roseland always had just one more trick up her sleeve, this time deciding to make use of a unique mechanism of her guns, “You won't get rid of me that easily!” By adjusting the hammer of her pistols to a specific position and tightly squeezing the trigger, it activates the grappling mechanism built-in to the knives. A heavily reinforced string is hidden cleverly within the base of the gun, giving her enough reach for the knife to cling onto the serpent’s body as it attempts to fly away. The serpent may have thought it had rid itself of its attacker, but in reality, she was right there with it the whole time. The Magnetic red knife had impaled the serpent like a tiny harpoon, which in turn would let Roseland pull herself back up to speed and rightfully give the serpent a piece of her mind.
