Game design tip: if the entire point of the game is to fight a frustrating control scheme, it's not a good design. Which, incidentally, might explain why platform games are a dieing genre.

well, it's a game made for masochistic players who want a challenge. also considering how well it's loved AND that it's being made into an XBLA and WiiWare game shows that many people don't agree with you.

Anyway, kinda sad that platforming isn't as strong of genre as it used to be, i love it. Also beat this on newgrounds, was fun.

Gamers are too pampered these days, they NEED hard games like this

Damn straight. If I had money, I'd put it up that at least half of newer gamer's wouldn't last one minute in something classic, such as Time Crisis II.

  • I spent an comparatively abnormal long time of 20 minutes on 2.3 then gave up at 2.15, the thing that bugged me wasn't really the ludicrous speed and acceleration combination some of these games have, but that in combination with the fact that jump height is fixed.

These two things made landing on single width platforms quite tricky, 2.15 had the problems of 2.3 in combination with saws and scrolling, meaning you had to be both quick, time your jump and be precise, and it got the better of me.

I've never played Super Meat Boy but if it has the same feel as this "prequel", then it's not a game for me.

The comparatively loud music to sound effects was a bit annoying as well, which eventually made me just mute the whole thing.

Afterwards it kind of makes me wonder if I could decompile this and implement "touch sensitive" jumping.

  • Lol why does the post and everybody (except Chessax) have a score of exactly -2? Can I also get a -2 if I mention that I 100%'d the game last time I played it on NewGrounds?
