Description

I'd call it a fantasy.

Blacklisted

What I’m getting at is that the piñata/unicorn is meant to represent that sense of self actualization. Knowing what you are and being proud, or at least not ashamed of it. The imagery of the unicorn/piñata’s come up 4 times now. At the beginning of the comic, in hell(?), with the psycho lord, and right now. Each appearance has dr knot either trying to avoid it, or get closer to it. Like he would LIKE to be proud of what he is, but his upbringing and the societal norms around him feel ashamed and avoidant. Really, the only thing keeping him from that piñata is himself.

would it be impolite to ask what's inside the piñata?

All I can say is DO NOT break open the piñata. It's Dr Knot's piñata, and only he can prod the piñata's insides.

    Hey Porygonplushie,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. These insightful interpretations are very satisfying!

I would mostly agree with you. Looking at the evidence, the unicorn piñata is a recurring element in the comic, and the characters can't seem to decide if they want to approach or run away from it. It seems benevolent, but also linked to traumatic events. Page 13 places unicorns near the "gay" end of the spectrum.

Dr Knot is definitely conflicted about his sexuality.

There are a few more meanings to the unicorn piñata that will be shown in future pages. It is quite a versatile character!
