For many years I falsely thought the game had two major character deaths. Bruno, the dog guy here, is one of them. He serves as the leader of the Kurvaz guild, the enemy for the first half of the game, and hideously transforms for the battle against him. The supplementary materials reveal he actually miraculously survived.

The tiger, Québec, is a former member of the Kurvaz guild who had a falling out with them over their direction prior to the events of the game. I had always casually wondered about Bruno and Québec's relationship, and once I learned about and read the fan translations of the stories it only strengthened my shipping these two.

Among the many supplemental materials released for the game, two of them concern their relationship. "Bitter Rain" focuses on Québec and depicts the events that lead to the rise of the Kurvaz guild as well as a major incident sometime prior to his falling out with them, which depicts both the death of one of the game's character's father as well as Québec being blinded in one eye and his right leg severely and permanently damaged.

"Forest of Healing" covers Bruno's miraculous rescue after his defeat in the game, jumping between his rescue and a walk through a sacred forest from the game as a nun tries to talk to him, as he lived mostly silent with guilt. It is revealed he often goes deep into the forest, and the nun figures out he was the one responsible for destroying part of the forest during the game. It turns out she was looking for him because she was guiding a visitor to him: Québec. The nun notes two sprouts growing from a burnt tree as Bruno and Québec talk, the forest and presumably their friendship healing.

I assume the two would continue to meet and talk after the initial visit, and perhaps grow closer. The picture illustrates the hypothetical scenario in which the two develop or resume a relationship with each other. Since it's clear in the story the only reason Bruno is found is that Angelica, the nun, is looking for him, it would be unlikely the two would be disturbed while fooling around like this.
