The update concludes...for now! Stay tuned for a status update covering everything that has happened this last month, and my plans going forward.

And still not on the main site because tumblr randomly nuked the main comic... More info and status updates here: https://worldofavania.tumblr.com

(I'm guessing some page updates I made got wrongly flagged by tumblr's anti-spam filters... I'm still waiting to hear back about my ticket, so HOPEFULLY it can be restored once staff gets around to it.)

In the meantime I will post the update's pages as planned here.

As always, thanks to everyone for sticking around and/or checking back in; your always means a lot to me!

I've also started developing a rebuild of World Of Avania on ComicFury, which has been updated to the comic's normal https://worldofavania.com URL to, as tumblr avaniacomic is still out.

Depending on how things go, I may just make the ComicFury site my main platform, since it'll probably be more secure than using tumblr as a CMS, and it allows me to customize the pages to a greater degree while largely retaining all the features I wanted. Just check out the new AvaniaMail experience there for example (it too, is still gradually populating with comics though).

Drawn: 2026

Analysis:
Technically an 8 page, but a bit more differentiated with the smaller close-up s and the full width in the lower middle. I think this page has a great mix of shots, both full-body and close in, even if the nature of the scene requires cropping in on Hans/Schmitt more often than not. Again, fun to design around the positioning of characters on the ground and elevated on the FHQ main building deck. The tracks in the dirt and the cast shadow of the garage also add some variety to the ground which would otherwise be pretty plain too.

If I drew it again:

Had to go back and add the tracks to the ground because I forgot them initially, but I think the shadows may still be off... I think that is less of an issue in this page vs the last one, but getting cast shadows all aligned while still making for good composition is always a challenge. Pretty happy with how most of this page turned out, though Wylder's pose in the wide is kinda doubling with Moorsley's (avoiding that can be tough when drawing characters who are supposed to be walking in step, but I could have done it better here I think).

Also, Hans is returning Rolena's salute when he probably shouldn't be due to not wearing a cover himself, but in this instance I wanted his respect for the character to be apparent vs his respect for following the letter of the regulations. So not out of character for him either, but just wanted to mention it since it was a consideration I made.

6, though it is still my favorite overall, was written to be more than one , and I think the interactions could have been stronger/clearer if that was the case, but it would have come at the cost of breaking up a nice wide shot and sacrificing the efficiency of putting all those dialogue balloons in one . In and of itself I think the is well executed, but it was originally planned to not cram multiple conversations into that one .

Favorite :

3 has an interesting composition with the full body views on both planes, and I like the dual close-ups of s 4 and 5, but of course my favorite is the big wide (6) because it showcases the most characters, and with a novel perspective too boot!
