    I think it might be fleeting thoughts he’s getting as he’s falling to (what he presumes is) his death.

    Honestly, I kinda like this interpretation, that he was thinking this, then hit the ground and lost consciousness, and then when he came to, he had forgotten about this train of thought and only felt the primal need for his father’s love once again. That way, he can it later in therapy.

    Actually he already hit the ground, he is still conscious but badly injured (same as page 1), and as his consciousness is slowly fading away and he thinks he is going to die, memories flood his brain and he realizes how wrong he was, because they actually treated him as a friend and he betrayed them for his family. But since he's showing regrets about his actions, he doesn't think he deserves to be a Lynxley either and realizes HE was the problem, and so, thinks that dying will solve everything.
