I think a new community-made patch released about a month ago that translates pretty much all text in the entire game, unlike the Project Nemo patch which only covers menus and dialogue. Emulation is the way; Duckstation worked fine for me but I switched to RetroArch since the save cards weren't working right. Haven't tried any others.
