Mer-Jay SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE???

I caught myself wondering the other minute whether or not Jayrunner is a Mary Sue. I mean, she kind of does have everything handed to her without really earning it, and seems to be good at a lot of things. But there are a few things that, I think, make her perhaps not completely one. First, it's established that she is (was) a highly ranked, trained soldier of the Lemur military, which is why she's good at fighting and running and piloting and whatnot. And unlike a typical Mary Sue, she has indeed faced huge amounts of loss and failure in her life; being banished for insubordination, losing her best friend, homeland and almost entire race. Also, Mary sue's typically don't have a driving force, rather just acting because it is the generic 'right thing to do.' Jayrunner is acting right now in order to save the world from the person who is likely to visit on other races the same afflictions he has put on her own.

I try to make all my characters fairly three-dimensional, with barely any of them being strictly good or bad guys, just opposing forces. After all, everyone is the hero of their own story.

Johan was totally a Gary Stu though.

And without showing the strings of the story tooooo much... this is the reason why Brushfire got that injury, because there was no other reason why she WOULDN'T jump in the pylon too and make the fight fairly uneven ^^' Also it's no coincidence that Jayrunner just HAPPENS to be a lemur and the shroud pylons just HAPPENED to be made by primates... but I digress.

Blacklisted

She breaks the first and second rule of mary suedom:
    1. The plot revolves entirely around her
    2. Everyone loves her
