Most people use the term "movie" and "film" interchangeably, and it largely works just fine.
However, there's this idea that equates the quality and artistry of a moving picture to the term associated with it.
The line "it's not a 'movie', it's a 'film' !" is primarily a nod to that debate, which is commonly held on the internet in spaces where people discuss motion pictures.
The following is the common hierarchy, from least-to-most artistically/culturally developed
- flick
- movie
- film
- cinema
- kino
A "flick" is probably something kinda trashy, maybe a slasher flick with ample depictions of boobs, or an exploitation film of sorts.
As you go down, the implied artistry and culture gets more and more refined, to where "kino" is something beyond just a great movie, but an outstanding statement.
As a result, calling something "movie" rather than the more artful "film" was insulting to the goat, who probably greatly appreciates the movie's director's previous work.
This of course is not explicitly mentioned in the comic itself, but as the creator I can confirm this is the goat's reasoning.

There's an interaction between two people, Palisade (male calico) and the goat (??? goat), instead of choosing male/male in the tags I went for male/intersex.
