MemberActually, white was their original color, but blue beat the blood out of them and well... Blood is a hard stain to get out and it was just easier to change the team name to Red.
Besides, red is a very loud color and makes any form of stealth all but impossible. The red sniper must hate his team color given how easy it is to pick him out against just about any background. The element of surprise is lost to such a team. I guess for offense red is ok, who needs to hide then. But for defense softer colors that let you ambush moronic invaders is way better.
