  • I couldn't help but look up the bird that's referenced in this comic. The sad thing of it all it was declared extinct back in the 1920s and it was one of the few birds of the United States that was natural to the land it was extremely common in Florida and then eventually assuming due to human development the species went extinct.

  • The artist is really good, always gives the feels. The one thing about the idea of time travel is that I hope if we ever do figure it out we go back just to bring back the species we killed.I had hopes in the cloning process but it looks like that isn't plausible either.

  • The saddest part is how they were killed in such great numbers, as documented by the Audubon Society.

Carolina parakeets naturally approached injured/dead of their species to check on them, because they were flocking birds (naturally congregating in groups of 300+) and when they landed to investigate the other dead parakeets, the 'good samaritans' were also shot and killed by hunters.

Whole flocks were wiped out because they would not abandon their own.

  • Can someone the other comics.
This artist is just on another level when it comes to emotional mini-comics.
My favorite is Opponents. It's the one that introduces Life as a character. I just like how it portrays life and death almost like old friends that love each other but don't want to it it.
