Sanctus was originally made to create a false Laurentian Holy figure in the form of Kea the Cavalier. Basically an Empath Suit, but with it's ability to generate golden flames re-engineered to form golden weapons resembling those of the All-mother, the Parvatist Holy creator deity.

Kea was eventually revealed to be a fraud and her ambitions were beaten by Locke decades ago, along with her accomplice Labyrinthian. Kea the Cavalier was stripped of her suit, and her limbs, by her employer Mokaine the Juggernaut.

Years later, Sanctus was jury-rigged using a stolen sample of Berretta's Queen suit, to turn Sanctus into a copy of Queen. Sanctus still couldn't use Queen's Quantum Shutdown ability that makes Quantum Suits go dormant, but it was able to use everything else, including Queen's energy-to-matter conversion.

Sanctus and Slave were eventually horribly damaged in the battle Mokaine had with Shuza, Candice, and Berretta. Slave was almost completely destroyed, and so what remained of it was combined with the remains of a Recluse type suit and mixed in to Sanctus to finish it up.

The result is Sanctus EzS. From Queen, EzS has the powers of flight, plasma barriers, plasma projections, energy-to-matter conversion, enhanced strength, and enhanced targeting.

But from the other suits used to repair it, EzS gains Intangibility from Recluse, Retaliation from Slave, and Healing Wing from Empath. The result is a monster of a stopgap suit.

Mokaine's abduction parties cast Parvatism in an almost universally negative light in the eyes of the world, and put Laurentia on the brink of a backlash in the form of a justified and very angry foreign invasion.

Even after Mokaine was dealt with, Parvatism's reputation was still abysmal. The abductors were being dealt with piece by piece, and relationships had been established with other countries, but the part of Parvatism that called for the amputation of women was a bump in the road that nearly no one outside the faith could get over. Parvatism was seen as sick, despite all the good Parvatists do for others within Laurentia.

Shuza, more or less, sees herself as the All-mother's instrument meant to clean the exploiters from the believers. The ones that seek to profit off the Parvatist life and beliefs, and tarnish the faith's reputation. Shuza believes she has a holy duty to make Parvatism more accepted to the world, and the steps to do that involve weeding out the abductors and the exploiters and show how her faith has made her a protector. To do this, she not only takes up the Sanctus EzS Quantum Suit, but also a new mantle.

The superhero alias, Holy Ghost.

Her efforts will eventually bear fruit, Parvatism will eventually become more accepted and will spread a bit outside Laurentia, albeit very slowly.
