i'm not sure if works at all

Well it does work, but in VR the scale is all wrong.
Salazzle appears to be like 4m tall and 2-3m away

This might just be SFM limitation I don't know.
Generally for VR you'd want to render 2 squares or rectangles side by side with no black bars on top or bottom - those create a very weird effect making the entire thing look like it's projected on the inside of a cylinder.

This also doesn't appear to be an equirectangular panorama - it's just rendered with a classical perspective camera - that's good for viewing it with 3D glasses but it's not suited for VR.

And as for the scale - in Blender camera settings there's something called "Convergence Plane Distance" - it sets up a virtual plane in your scene at a desired distance - you can think of this plane as a virtual screen - things in front of it will pop out of it, and things behind it will be appear to have depth as if you were looking through a window. This is fine for viewing content on a 2D screen with 3D glasses, but it works differently for VR - there is no screen in VR (not in the traditional sense anyway) so at no point your vision should switch from seeing things that pop out to things that are in depth.
Therefore the plane should pretty much be set at infinity - however a couple of hundred meters is also good enough.

Again I don't know SFW and it's limitations, but there might be a similar setting there.
