If you remove the theobromine from it, like has been done to special chocolate treats for dogs, equines can eat it all day and only get as sick as they would from anything else with that much sugar. For that matter, the theobromine is the only thing that makes ANY animal die from chocolate ingestion, so any animal you've heard "Don't feed them chocolate!" for is perfectly safe to feed theobromine-free chocolate to.
