Hildegard's Quest for Aura - #014: Kakuna

"The kakuna was no challenge to devour, but it tasted a lot better than I imagined it would. I didn't expect for it to resist my acids so well, but it clearly remained stubborn and continued to harden. It stayed in my belly, stewing in my acids very slowly. It took about a full day after eating it for it to finally soften up."

Wha....That...That's not how 'harden' works. Harden stiffens your muscles, making impacts not as effective. It doesn't make your skin 'harder'. I'm overanalyzing but stuff like this makes me squirm in my seat...

...but Kakuna is hardening its skin, or whatever that layer of its cocoon is.

in Pokemon when Ash had his Metapod harden so much it broke the Pincers pincers when it tried to snap him in half? Definitely hardens the outer shell of bug pokemon

Noooot necessarily. If you're resisting the force of the crush, if the bug and you are equally strong, then the density of the pincers is what is being tested. In this case, the pincers were not tough enough to survive the force that the beetle poke was exerting on them. Kinda like punching a brick wall, you can be strong enough to do it, but if your bones are too weak then they're going to break even if you succeed in breaking the wall.

Most of us here try to get off to porn.
You appear to get off on being a buzzkill.
