Bar emanata are straight lines jutting from a character, often indicating surprise or other strong emotions. Bar emanata are also often meant to indicate areas of interest in an illustration.

The concept of this tag is based off of emanating rays of the sun. This is why the lines are often portrayed as yellow bars, and move outward from a source point in an arc. The emanata used for the sun's rays in cartoons is the same effect being applied to characters, and objects under this tag.
