MemberI wouldn't call this "jumping the shark" so much as "selling out." It's obvious that these characters were added to appeal to the little girl demographic, so honestly, it's just kinda what you expect from a company that's trying to increase their target audience to help a failing system sell.
I'd really be fine with these additions, were it not for the fact that these guys replaced Birdo, Dry Bones, Bowser Jr., King Boo, Diddy Kong and a few other really cool characters with the physical embodiment of selling out. The MK Wii roster still remains the best, IMO.
